Tremont - A Neighborhood of Architectural Gems and Rich Cultural Heritage
Chelsea Point is located in the great Tremont neighborhood. This community boasts a unique mix of architectural styles including many historic buildings and homes. Tremont once hosted the city's first institution of higher learning - Cleveland University - which operated in the neighborhood from 1851 to 1853. Many of the current street names such as “Professor”, “College”, “Literary”, and “University” harken back to this time period.
Today the neighborhood is home to artists and galleries, award-winning restaurants featuring fine food and authentic ethnic cuisine, boutique shops, rehabbed Victorian homes, historic churches, and beautiful parks. Tremont hosts a number of family friendly events throughout the year. With close proximity to other Cleveland neighborhoods such as Ohio City, as well as easy access to downtown, living in Tremont is very convenient.
